THIS YEAR'S FEATURED ARTIST:
Lorraine Potocki
Lorraine started her own business, Florida Pastels, LLC, in February 2008. Her medium, pastels, allows her to capture the beauty of Florida’s beaches, wildlife, and environment. She graduated from The College of New Jersey with a degree in Fine Arts and Education.

She has exhibited in Tarpon Springs, Dunedin, Palm Harbor, Madeira Beach, Clearwater and Jacksonville and has been the featured artist at Palm Harbor Library.

Lorraine is an active member of the Pastel Society of Tampa Bay, PAVA, and The Greater Palm Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce.

She is the winner of the 2010 Clearwater Jazz Poster Contest and was named Feature Artist for the 31st annual Clearwater Jazz Holiday coming to Coachman Park on October 14-17. Her winning entry “Fusion” will be used for the event poster and tee shirts. In 2009, Lorraine won third place honors in the “Fall in Furniture Love” Scan Design competition, Tampa Region. Her art was featured in the July/August 2009 issue of Tampa Bay Magazine.

Lorraine was the recipient of The 2009 United Way Volunteer of the Year in Arts and Recreation for her work at Bakas Equestrian Center Horses for Handicapped in Tampa.

She also teaches private lessons in her studio and conducts pastel workshops in the Greater Tampa Bay Area.

The Palm Harbor Fine Arts & Crafts Festival, which is sponsored by the Greater Palm Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce and celebrates its 35th anniversary in 2009, has been an important catalyst for these friendships that continue to grow today. Because Rocky Bridges lives near the Palm Harbor site, his home has been an open house respite for artists on the Saturday night of the show. Traditionally, this is after the awards are announced and congratulations can be shared with those who have received recognition. A highlight of the evening is an incredible Thai meal prepared by Tony Eitharong. This tradition has only furthered the unique bonds that have been nurtured now for over thirty years.

The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art is pleased to host an exhibition, accompanied by a gallery guide, which honors both the sustainability of the Palm Harbor show for 35 years and the artist friendships that have developed because of the show. To this end the Museum has invited ten of the numerous artists that Rocky has befriended over the years. Each artist has exhibited at the Palm Harbor Festival, many have won awards at the show, and each has in some manner influenced the development of Rocky Bridges as a mentor, colleague or friend. The artists represent a variety of media and styles and include: Catherine Bergmann, David Bewley, John Costin, Tony Eitharong, Susan Livingston, Duncan McClellan, Carole Napoli, Judi Wood, Josette Urso, as well as Rocky Bridges.
